Even though someone might say that it is a cruel way of doing things, but in order to achieve a proper level of success, the person has to use force of, what some might call, an unethical measures. In modern western society, we put a lot or enthuses on measuring personal success by the amount of income a person has generated. There is a lot of pressure from the outside and within on how we measure our personal achievement.

In the eastern philosophy, success is a measure of personal achievement. May it be a personal satisfaction, a task of some sort or a financial gain, but it is within a person to set that standard for him or her self. The book also uses a variety of metaphors to explain how to implement the information and posses a proper balance of Thick Face Black Heart theory. One of the ones the author stresses out is about a Fox and a Tiger. The Fox is a small animal, who is not as noticeable in the woods and can easily be killed by other bigger and stronger animals.

The Fox knows how to associate herself with a Tiger, therefore creating an image of being in the company of a much larger beast.

Even if the Fox is not directly associated with the Tiger, the perception that the Tiger cares about the Fox's well being, makes the Fox feel safe and protects her from the rest. In the real life we can always use the same methodology in our business and every day life. When we associate ourselves or create an image that we are associated with an important or more powerful entity, the others are fearful and more inclined to take us seriously.

We can make the others, whether it is in business or in friendships take us with a greater level of respect, because we perceive, that a much larger and stronger force is backing us.

The basic idea in the nutshell behind the book is that we have the power within us to develop a winning, efficient and self-motivating persona, which will be more appealing to the outside world and ourselves.

How much will we be willing to contribute in order to do it? Is everyone capable of demonstrating the Thick Face Black Heart theory? Can people create their own limitations and except them, and what it takes to break out from the every day situations and get the most for our personal satisfaction without hurting others.

The book uses a lot of famous quotes by great philosophers, thinkers and leaders. There is definitely more then what can be laid out in this opinion.

I have never seen a book, where the content of personal motivation and self-achievement was explained in such great detail. This book is not for self-motivation or for business success, it is about life and how to live it to the fullest potential.

It is absolutely true. I will definitely have to read this one again, to get more out of it. Enabled X-Ray: Not Enabled.

One of the best books I have ever read for successful living, not just business. I have read Eastern Philosophy and applied it to my every day life as well as Western Philosophy, mainly Judeo-Christian. The author did a wonderful job of synthesizing all the philosophies.

I wish I had had this when younger, but it still comes in handy in my old age.

I haven't given up on life yet LOL. Have read thousands of books on success, my father getting me started on it when I was still in elementary school. This sums it up well. I bought copies for all three of my sons and hopefully they will "read, study and inwardly digest" the information in this book. It will make their lives easier and more successful. I got interested in this book from Mike Mahler who said that it would raise your testosterone level. By the way, it was written by a woman, not the usual for a testosterone raising read, LOL I cannot verify actual lab values for testosterone, but reading it and following her directions will bring confidence to you, and open doors to success and happiness.

Napoleon Hill always said that he found it more effective to have the person search for the secret in his writings than to tell them.

Thick Face, Black Heart : The Warrior Philosophy for Conquering the Challenges of Business and Life

I think that I had found it, but always wanted to have it clarified, succinct and in a describable fashion. I never was sure that I had what he was talking about, even though I have been and still am successful.

I actually got a better clue in Stephen Mitchell's "Bhagavad Gita". Paperback Verified download. An amazing philosophy book. An intelligent insight to human behavior and well writen guide to your own self examination.

Prepare to question your world view and your understanding of morals. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Thick Face, Black Heart is a very profound and well-written book. Now that I have read it from cover to cover, I can say that it gave me a deeper understanding of the world in many senses.

Thick Face, Black Heart: The Asian Path to Thriving, Winning & Succeeding

After reading this book, I can say that I do see the spiritual within the mundane. However, the biggest problem with this book is that you get what she is saying or you don't. For those who don't understand Ms. Chu's message, the aphorisms that she draws from different religions might seem convoluted, the main points in one chapter will seem oxymoronic compared to another chapter, and even her anecdotes will seem superfluous.

It's not an easy book to understand. It took me at least five attempts alone. Another personal gripe with the book is that she seemed to write this book for a more sociopathic audience. While she does emphasize the needs for ethics in all of our dealings, she provides a lot more examples of how those without ethics tend to win more on life.

It's a pretty hard thing to swallow if you don't want to do away with your sense of integrity, which in my experience is very important for success. However, and she does emphasize this, that what she wrote in the book is very universal and you can even find aspects of "Thick Face, Black Heart" from any other spiritual and philosophical works, even if it lacks that label.

If somehow Ms.

This is a rare and honest book, probably not for the light of heart or those retreating from reality. The principles covered within deal with a wide range of modern personal issues, as well as being applicable to business. It is a modern derivative of a Chinese warrior tenet, a philosophy dangerous to the Communist regime and, quite possibly, to corrupt pseudo-democracy ; I was surprised and thrilled that it made its way to the Western market.

It should be a reference in every military academy, in every dojo or kwoon, as well as in business courses. Personally, over 15 years after downloading it the first time, I still think it good enough to download again; it's that valuable to me. It's definitely the two things I have lacked my whole life.
