Of course, this mainly applied to Logan I especially loved that she was right there under his nose for years. Logan, Logan, Logan.
I get such a kick out of the good boy being a bad boy in bed and man, can he talk dirty!! I almost want to say some of it seemed to be shocking just for shock value but I'm really not complaining. It was great seeing him work through his feelings even if it was hard seeing him try to do the right thing.
My heart went out to Rowan She really did deserve to be happy and have what she wants. And it was great seeing her go after what she wants. But it was heart breaking when she felt she had to protect herself.

And I don't even want to talk about what happened with her Dad. Logan and Rowan together were amazing. I especially loved their time in Grand Haven Then, when the moment finally came, it was so harsh Well, that whole night was hard. Rowan's best friend and Logan's sister , Sara, was a wonderful person for Rowan. She helped Rowan so much through the years but I don't think Rowan realized how much she did for Sara.
The only thing I wish is that we would've gotten a recap of their conversation after Sara found out. Logan and Sara's parents were a big part of Rowan's life as well. They really helped her so much.
I loved the parts where Ronnie the Mom seemed like she was figuring things out and it made me laugh when Logan was talking about his Mom doing Jedi mind tricks on him! The ending I just have a hard time with all kinds of abuse and it was hard to read. The hair cutting? What was up with that?
And it really bothered me that we were never updated on what happened to her Dad. Overall, I really enjoyed it I loved getting both POV's and of course, getting an epilogue and seeing how they worked everything out. I would have rated it higher if it wasn't for the abuse. A sobering, passionate and enthralling tale of finding love amongst the darkness of life. Rowan our book heroine, has spent the most part of her life dodging the abuse given out by her alcoholic and unloving father.
Experiencing the death of her mother at an early age, this loveable character summons strength and courage to move forward with her life. Circumstances bring this unlikely but made-for-each other couple close and this story beautifully writes their journey. From the start this book is cast in darkness by the sensitively written topic of abuse, but with the added likability of an addictive turn pager.
The author shows great sympathy with her writing to the characters lives and it never felt too heavy. I was excited to read this book after my book bestie, Anna recommended it to me. Beautifully and lovingly written, I was swept up in the romance and sometimes teary chapters. A huge plus for my reading experience was the realistic build up of relationship between this book couple. I fell hopelessly in love and LUST along side them.
Their is no doubt whatsoever, that the champion of this novel is Logan. What he can't achieve by his words, was more than compensated by his loving actions.
He had my book heart well and truly captured. A true romance story delivered with depth and emotion. View all 44 comments. Dec 26, Duchess Nicole rated it really liked it Shelves: I was really unprepared for how emotional this story would be. I was also unprepared for how much varied sex would be involved At ten years of age, her Mom dies in a car wreck and she is sent to live with her father.
Her alcoholic, abusive father. Luckily, she meets Sarah, a popular girl from school, and the two strike up an unlikely friendship that stays strong throughout the rest of the book.
The unending loyalty and protectiveness that Logan exhibits is what kept me from feeling so squeamish about the age difference between he and Rowen.
Rowen is seventeen at the beginning of the story and eighteen for the majority of it. I really wish that she could have been at least a year or two ahead in life, but that would have changed the whole dynamic of the story, so it was not to be!
At first, Logan wants nothing more than to save this sweet, timid friend of his sister…his instinct to protect leads him to make some questionable decisions that lead to questionable situations.
You could delve into the psychology of the situation but I tried very hard to refrain and just enjoy the story. But when he and Rowen spend so much time together, one thing leads to another….
And come up with some very interesting ways to keep from having actual intercourse. I almost felt like it was overdone…. But after all of the things that these two did together, I think Rowen was a virgin by a slight technicality only.
To me, virginity is innocence, not a hymen.
So while yes, the girl could still claim to be a virgin, she was most assuredly NOT innocent by any stretch of the imagination. Logan is all alpha in the bedroom. He pushes boundaries that I imagine many couples never breach, ever. I admit to feeling uncomfortable a couple more times during a few of the sexual situations that these two found themselves in.
She gives me willingly what I need and owns me because of it. In a lot of relationships in books with younger couples, the angst comes from a lack of maturity and lack of trust between the two.
Not so with these two. The fact that they both are responsible enough not to profess an undying love for one another shows a level of maturity that is solid. In reality, Rowen was ready to be on her own, forced through circumstance to grow up too soon.
Logan was a young man willing to take on the responsibility of caring for someone weaker than him who desperately needed both his protection and his discretion. THAT, my friends, is a true man!!! And therefore, I love him. It was riveting, it was passionate in all ways, and it was a well rounded story with a wonderful epilogue!!! View all 31 comments. Nov 18, Lindsay rated it really liked it Shelves: This book was interesting. And it takes place in Michigan…the state where I live.
So, that should make things even more interesting. Now, imag This book was interesting. Instead…she gets a scholarship to the University of Michigan! Much better school in my completely biased opinion [image error] …Anyway, that was my biggest pet peeve. This book was actually pretty accurate…. At one point in the book, Logan and Rowan go to dinner with his family in Grand Rapids then leave for Detroit.
The book depicted it as a relatively short drive…no more than 30 minutes. The cities are on opposite sides of the state. With that rant out of the way… I liked Rowan and Logan. He was caught completely off guard by his attraction to her. She did make some stupid mistakes, but for the most part, she was very mature. It was easy to forget that she was only It was completely believable and extremely sad. For all intents and purposes, Logan was upper-middle class, brought up well.
But something about those scenes in the book…felt off. It almost felt like they were there to be shocking. Even with all that said… hide spoiler ] I really enjoyed the story.

This book have the the best foreplay ever. The most controversial as they say because of the age gap and the "V" issue, but I'm ok with the age gap. With the "V" issue.. I like the Hannigan family especially Sara. I love love love love how the book end as much as how i hate it to end. View all 23 comments. Their relationship was suppose to stay platonic but as events happen they realize there is more to this relationship then Logan being her knight in shining armor.

Dec 30, AJ rated it liked it Shelves: While I really liked the story, the writing style just did not work for me. But I thought the premise was a really good one. Rowan has lived a tragic life, moving in with her alcoholic, abusive father after the death of her mother when she was a child.
When her father beats her badly one night, she tries to call Sara, only for Logan to answer the phone. He immediately comes to pick her up and, even though it is against the law and therefore jeopardises his legal career, he agrees with her pleas not to go to the Police or hospital, instead taking her home to care for her, and insisting that she stay with him when her father drinks, so that he can keep her safe.
But Logan ditches the girlfriend, and the other issues start to fade away the more time he and Rowan spend together, and things slowly start to develop between them. Like really, really steamy. Logan takes his time, and introduces innocent Rowan to everything slowly, but once they get going, it's non-stop smut!
For, despite how he feels about her, and every other intimate act that they have done together, Logan refuses to take things to that final level. Their arrangement is only temporary, and they both know that.
But neither of them expected to find something so special together. It is dual POV, written in first person, present tense, and feels very narrative. It was like the story was dictated to me, rather than letting me feel it, and as a result, I felt very removed from it.
I actually had to put the book down and read something else for a while in case it was just my mood. But even when I came back to it a week and a bit later, it still bothered me.
But I was intrigued enough in the story to want to continue reading.
And even though I felt detached from the story somewhat, the big climax certainly packed a punch, and the story after that point was gorgeous. I wished that I got to know him a bit more, but I just felt too detached from him to really fall for him. The dialogue was lacking, but the last few chapters certainly picked up and finally bought some swoon. View all 11 comments. Jul 23, Catarina rated it really liked it Shelves: This is the story of Rowan and Logan.
Logan included! One night after an especially bad night at home, Rowan calls Sara to come get her, but who ends up picking up her phone is Logan and he is the one who goes save Rowan.
After that night everything changes and they start to see each other in a completely different way. But the fact that he is her best friend older brother whom she knows for years, he is also seven years older, has a girlfriend and will soon finish college and move to another town. And neither of them wants to start something that soon has to be over. He can't for all the same reasons I can't. It hurts too much.
It's like an alcoholic taking a sip of wine; the pleasure of the indulgence would be immediate and swift, but the aftermath would be devastating. A friend advised me to get a walk-in freezer before reading it, and boy, was she right!

Reading the blurb and looking at the cover, you would think this was simply erotica. Let me set you straight.. Elizabeth has managed to weave erotica and angst and true love together so fluidly and in such a beautiful way that you feel everything that Row and Logan are going through. This book made me smile out loud so many times, then it would twist my heart so tight and I thought it would never let go. This book totally owned me View all 4 comments. It's official.. I liked Row so much..
She didn't irritate me at all as the heroine which is quite rare.. I'm in a Colton Haynes period as you can see..
Logan was amazing, he made the ultimate sacrifice.. AWWW again.. I like Sara she was a very good friend althought i would like to see more of her.. Ronnie and Marcus were the perfect family.. I can't express how much i hated her father.. The story was so beautiful and i enjoyed the first half so much when they kept their distance..
The interaction in the car when Rowan was drunk was priceless.. And all the moments she was ogling him were so funny I felt so much hatred and i was shocked towards the monster that called himself a father..
But anyway i got my HEA.. And what a HEA it was.. Thank you Anna for your great recommendation again! Logan cloud here i come.. View all 17 comments. Not Your Mama's YA! This was an interesting read. Not quite sure how to describe it just yet, but I would say I just read a young adult erotica book. Does that genre even exist? Sounds fairly contradictory to me. The author is incredibly descriptive with the intimate scenes and the alternating POV and internal dialogue add such intensity to this love story that I felt like I was experiencing what the heroine was going through in such an intimate way, which kinda freaked me out since sh Not Your Mama's YA!
The ending and the epilogue tied this story up nicely and made me feel much better less guilty over how much I enjoyed the sex scenes. Dec 11, Jenny - TotallybookedBlog rated it liked it. I was so conflicted. Could I put this book down? Not a chance, I was hooked from start to finish. Did I love this book? That sounds very vague I know, so let me explain. On the one hand this book had me utterly consumed but on the other hand there was a lot of eye rolling on my part throughout this book.
I also have to add that by the end of it I was over the physical scenes with Rowan and Logan. Their relationship was lacking something for me which made me feel disconnected to the story in some way. We meet Rowan, who lives in a trailer with her alcoholic father after the death of her mother. They take Rowan in as one of their own and provide a safe haven for her whenever she needs it. I really did empathise with Rowan. She was dealt a cruel hand in life and I felt so sorry for her at what she had to deal with and at times my heart went out to her.
He knows her family offers Rowan the love and security that Rowan does not find at home. One night Logan answers a call of help from Rowan that begins a relationship between the two that soon turns passionate and all consuming. All that aside, Logan also has his life set out for himself, a path that he is not wanting willing to deviate from at all. His plan begins to waiver and his priorities change as he begins to feel the true depth of what Rowan means to him.
Rowan is a very mature 17 year old. She has seen a lot and had an extremely hard and difficult life at the hands of her father and I understand that she was old for her years, but part of my issue with her character was her internal voice. In fact this is where some of my issues with the story came into play. There were a couple of times I had to back track to get the feel of exactly who was talking. The dialogue enables me to be present, to feel certain scenes.
I experienced the physical side, oh yes, the sex is hot, but emotionally their relationship fell a bit short for me. View all 10 comments. Hot,sexy, sweet, sad - heartbreaking at times, hopeful I could go on. An amazing love story. Ahhh sweet Logan.
Buttoned up lawyer. Smut lovers-this is for you Read it. You won't regret it. This is a story about a girl.. A pretty dancer.. A dancer who was abused by her drunken father One night After getting beaten by her father, Rowan leaves home to call her best friend Sara to fetch her and that's the night everything changes Sara's brother Logan, answers the phone as Sara forgot it at home and Logan comes to fetch her..
He saved her in sooo many ways Rowan is 7 years older than Rowan and is Sara's brother.. Rowan is becoming a lawyer and tells Rowan t This is a story about a girl.. Rowan is becoming a lawyer and tells Rowan to report what happened, she refuses and they make a deal that she would stay with him Rowan got a scholarship for a dance school and she agrees to stay with him till she goes to dance school Slowly things change and they become closer Sara is a virgin, never touched Logan and Rowan start a sexual relationship minus the sex!!!!
He makes her feel beautiful What happens when you not supposed to love and you do? And some rather disturbing oral scenes. Lol this killed the book to 3 stars for me Then life happens with pain and heartbreak With a HEA!!! View all 6 comments. Dec 29, Vallsykes rated it it was ok Shelves: Sure, the thought of young girl about to graduate from HS, and get away from her very abusive father, falling for her best friend's very attractive, goodguy, older brother seems a cliche, but nonetheless enticing plot.
However, this one neglected to give plausible reasons for the heroine's or her father's actions. LOL hide spoiler ]. I got that he was worried, given the heroine's age, but it's like shit or get off the pot already, jeesh. The heroine, though only 17, is written like she's 30, showed signs of a smart chick, but then they'd be overshadowed by her 'I'm a strong silent victim' complex, which was plain annoying and predictable.
