I was so excited to find this book available to rent and at such an affordable price! Unfortunately, it really is true you get what you pay for. The binding of the book is spilt and separated from paperback, with one loose page from the center of the book. No highlighting or makings in any pages that I have seen yet, so otherwise in good shape. Not what I expected, but still okay. However, it seemed very expensive for how it looks.
The Psychology and Nutrition book I received in good condition. However, the Project Management book was falling apart.
Luckily there were no pages missing. I cannot complain too much for paying a small amount for a textbook. Go to site. Back to top. Get to Know Us.
Theories of Personality
site Web Services Goodreads Shopbop. Optimistic vs. Pesimistic The last domain in the concept of humanity to be considered is whether Jung was optimistic in his views of humanity or pessimistic.
Feist and Feist believed that Jung was neither optimistic nor pessimistic in his view of humanity. Since Jung was neither pessimistic nor optimistic, it could be said that here he is again balanced in his views of human nature.
Conclusions In the cavernous depths of Jung's own collective unconscious, he believed that he gained insights into the inner workings of all men's personalities.
Jung's concept of human nature was distinctly balanced. He found balance between the conscious, personal unconscious, and collective unconscious.
He found balance between the concepts of determinism and free will. He found balance between causality and teleology. He also found balance between optimism and pessimism.
In only two of the domains of the concept of humanity does Jung not hold a balanced opinion. His theory of the collective unconscious necessitates a strong inclination in the belief that human nature is biological rather than social. Focus on the collective unconscious also demands that all people be viewed according to their similarities rather than what makes each of them unique.
Carl Jung's Concept of Humanity and Theory of Personality
These two domains aside, Jung's perspective on the concept of humanity is one that reflects an understanding that people are complex, and that the nature of what defines a person can often go further down into the depths of the mind than what can easily be explored.

Wiggins, J. My all time favorite! Derlega, V. The criteria the author looks at for whether the theory is useful is 1 how well it has generated research, 2 whether the theory is falsifiable that is, whether it could in principle be disproven , 3 its organization of data integrating well what is currently known about human behavior and personality development coherently , 4 its guide to action that is, the theory's relevance to other areas outside of the psychological domain, including with parents, teachers, politicians, and so on , 5 its internal consistency that is, a theory that has premises that are logically compatible with its other premises , and 6 its parsimony how simple and straightforward the theory would be to explain phenomena as compared to other theories in terms of simplicity and straightforwardness.
Reading this textbook about personality theories was, for me, much like reading those principles I just wrote. Or do all people have potential to be either good or evil?
